Zao Vietnamese Bistro (+ Gelatissimo + Timezone) With The Kikays

Label(s): , , , , ; Posted By Ry

Lume-level up na ang bonding ko with my college best friends Sheela and Rhona a.k.a The Kikays. From the classic Glorietta during our college days, promoted na kami sa Serendra and Bonifacio High Street which are beside each other in Bonifacio Global City.

We tried Zao Vietnamese Bistro on our first time together there August 2011. It was around 2:30 when we arrived and made it to the cutoff – yep, some restaurants there have cutoff in taking orders pala by 3PM then will resume na ulit by around 5-6PM.

kami lang ang tao dahil trip namin mag-lunch ng alas-3 ng hapon!

What we ordered for our late lunch/early dinner…

Crispy Spring Rolls

Barbeque Pork Chop – manamis-namis which suits my Pinoy taste bud

Asians love rice! Zao’s Saigon Rice – fried rice with shrimps, Chinese sausage and peas

Caramelized Garlic Prawns – eto talaga ang winner! This is one of their best sellers and I super like the caramelized garlic on top; this is a must try!

We also had this crepe thing for dessert (sorry I can’t remember the name); taste is only average but it’s definitely not bad

Can’t recall how to exactly describe the food here since it has been almost two years already. But what I can remember is that the taste is generally really good and the price range is also reasonable. Even though Zao serves Vietnamese cuisine, there is still a certain familiarity on Filipinos’ taste buds so it would be hard to get wrong. Zao Vietnamese Bistro is definitely one of my recommended restaurants in Serendra.

S’yempre tuloy-tuloy lang ang UBE (Ultimate Bonding Experience). So we had another round of dessert at Gelatissimo also at Serendra.

Tama na ang fiesta at bondat na kami! Moving on, we strolled around and crossed Bonifacio High Street. Buti may Timezone rito. More UBE!!… When we were in college, Timezone in Glorietta was one of our hangout places. I can still remember how we exerted effort to travel from Intramuros to Glorietta makapag-Timezone lang. Most of the time we were still in school uniform plus we had scheduled thesis defense the following day; pero go pa rin! Haha, good old college days :).

shake-shake to reload!

Videoke - wow, may pinagdaraanan?! haha

Actually, I was not at peace those days. My heart was close to being broken then. Rhona and Sheela, thank you for accompanying me kahit na nung time na In a Relationship pa ako e na-ignore ko kayo at medyo nakalimutan. Thank you for being by my side during those very difficult days of my life. At lalo na, thank you for making me feel like we were college students again (just yummier) :p.

Rhona and Sheela at Bonifacio High Street… sinong mas hot sa kanila? :D
